El podio lo siguen ocupando los locales gastronómicos de Perú y Chile, que demuestran que la comida del Pacífico es más que una moda. Sólo un representante de la Argentina está entre los primeros diez según un ranking elaborado por la revista británica Restaurant.

La Argentina no encabeza el listado de los 50 mejores restaurantes de Latinoamérica para los británicos, pero es el país que más presencia tiene en el ranking que se presentó el último miércoles en la ciudad de México. Vale aclarar que los restaurantes argentinos que fueron incluidos en la selección son todos de Buenos Aires, lo que no necesariamente indica que sean los mejores de nuestro país, sino sólo de nuestra capital. Lo que no puedes perderte en Buenos Aires En el séptimo puesto y primer argentino se encuentra el restaurant Tegui, de Germán Martitegui, un chef que se hizo mediático como integrante del jurado de Master Chef. La lista sigue con El Baqueano en el puesto 15°; la parrilla gourmet La Cabrera en el 19° y Chila en el 21°, el único comandado por una mujer, María Soledad Nardelli. La lista de los restaurantes porteños que no puedes perderte  sigue con Aramburu (28°); Elena (37°); Oviedo (39°); Resto (43°); Don Julio (45°) y Tarquino (48°). Por otra parte, si bien no ingresó en el ranking, otro restaurante porteño fue elegido como el mejor emergente: iLatina, del barrio de Villa Crespo. Para la elaboración de la clasificación se toman en cuenta los votos de reconocidos chefs, periodistas especializados y amantes de la comida de todo el mundo. Los 10 mejores La lista de los mejores restaurantes de la región la encabeza el Central, de la ciudad de Lima. Lo sigue Boragó, de Santiago de Chile; Astrid y Gastón, también de Lima y D.O.M, de San Pablo, Brasil. El ganador –Central-  pertenece al chef Virgilio Martínez, quien logró por segundo año consecutivo este galardón. Hay que destacar que en los 10 primeros puestos continúan los mismos restaurantes que estaban en la lista de 2015, lo único que varió fue su posición en el ranking. Por ejemplo, el restaurante Boragó, de Rodolfo Guzmán, subió tres posiciones para quedar segundo, superando a Astrid y Gastón y el restaurante D.O.M., del chef Alex Atala. Virgilio Martínez y Pía León, ganadores del Premio San Pellegrino al Mejor Restaurante de América Latina 2015, con Giorgio Mondovi, director de negocios internacionales de San Pellegrino El Top Ten de América Latina

  6.  Restaurante Quintonil – Ciudad de México / chef: Jorge Vallejo / plato destacado: Huauzontles con queso chiapas
  7.  Restaurante Tegui – Buenos Aires / chefs: German Martitegui y Mercedes Solis / plato destacado: Lomo, chimichurri, papas a las brasas, huevo y farofa
  8.  Restaurante Maní – San Pablo / chefs: Helena Rizzo y Daniel Redondo / plato destacado: Caracú con palmito y açaí
